We are officially into the colder months here at Montrêux Golf & Country Club. Everyone is skiing, snowshoeing, and sledding with their kids and grandkids. But sometimes, you do not want to be out in the cold. Here is some of our favorite things to do indoor in the Reno area during the winter months!
Checkout some art at the Nevada Museum of Art.
Get inspired and check out some beautiful art! The Nevada Museum of Art features over three stories of art for your viewing pleasure. The art rotates monthly and features everything from paintings, mixed media, portraits, and everything in between! After you have looked at the artwork, be sure to grab a bite to eat at Chez Louie, the French inspired restaurant located inside the museum.
Hone your lumberjack skills at Reno Axe.
Ready to show off your axe throwing skills? Located in the downtown area, Reno Axe is one of the few places in Reno where you can throw axes and enjoy a couple drinks! The axe bar follows plenty of safety protocols to keep you safe, and someone will walk you through the proper technique for throwing. You can even order a bite to eat from the Italian-American restaurant next door, Liberty Food & Wine. Reno Axe is a fun way to get competitive with your loved ones this holiday season!
Paint like a pro at Picasso & Wine.
Everyone makes their best art when enjoying some delicious red wine. Picasso & Wine is an interactive art class that also lets you loosen up with a drink to feed your creativity! Each class has a pre-determined painting that the instructor walks you through how to paint. Visit their website to see all their upcoming classes and choose your favorite paint scene.
Drive fast at Need 2 Speed.
Ready to race? Grab your friends and family and head to Need 2 Speed for some go-kart action! Located in South Reno, Need 2 Speed is one of the best places to kart in the Reno area. Their electric karts are modern and delivery maximum torque and acceleration to make you feel like a professional racer!
Work on your putting at the Coconut Bowl.
With the course being closed during the winter months, mini golf at the Coconut Bowl is the perfect way to keep things sharp while also spending time with the family! Oh, did we mention that its glow in the dark? Beyond mini golf, the Coconut Bowl also offerings bowling and go karts, making it a great place to spend the day with the whole family.
These are just some of the places you can go to stay warm and have fun this winter. Wherever you decide to go, be sure to drink lots of hot cocoa and hot toddies!
